FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is AudFlo?+
AudFlo is an AI Visibility Audit Platform. It is an answer engine optimization (AEO) tool that helps founders get recommended by ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. It scans your site, gives you an AI Visibility Score, shows why AI engines recommend competitors instead of you, and writes the fixes.
Is the audit really free?+
Yes. No card, no trial that converts to a charge. The free scan gives you your full score, your top blockers with proof, and one unlocked fix. Pro exists for founders who want the complete Fix Pack and ongoing rescans.
What is AI visibility?+
AI visibility is how well AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity can find, understand, trust, and recommend your product. It extends SEO into AI answers: alongside ranking in a list of links, you are competing to be the one name an AI gives when someone asks for a recommendation. See the AI Visibility Guide for the full definition.
How is AI visibility different from SEO?+
AI visibility extends SEO into AI-generated answers rather than replacing it. The same foundations, technical SEO, external authority, entity clarity, and answer-ready content, all affect whether AI engines find, trust, and recommend you. You can rank well on Google and still be under-recommended by AI engines, because the emphasis differs, not because the signals are unrelated.
Why does ChatGPT recommend competitors instead of us?+
Usually because ChatGPT does not understand your product well enough to risk recommending it. Your competitors tend to have clearer category positioning, named trust signals, comparison content, and a real founder presence. AudFlo shows you exactly which of those signals you are missing, then generates the fixes.
What is recommendation readiness?+
Recommendation readiness is how prepared your site is to be recommended by AI engines, expressed as a status from your scan. It blends your AI Visibility Score with the authority signals AI engines look for. Higher readiness means an AI engine is more likely to cite, compare, and recommend you.
What are authority signals?+
Authority signals are the verifiable forms of trust AI engines rely on when deciding who to recommend: named testimonials, case studies, original data, a credible founder or team page, third-party mentions, and topic coverage. Audits find problems; authority signals create recommendation potential.
What is Entity Confidence?+
Entity Confidence is how sure an AI engine is that your brand is a real, distinct, and trustworthy entity. Low confidence means the model hedges or recommends someone safer. It compounds across every other signal, from category clarity to evidence.
What is the Evidence Ladder?+
The Evidence Ladder ranks proof by how much an AI engine can trust it, from anonymous claims at the bottom to named, verifiable, third-party evidence at the top. AudFlo uses it to show which trust signals will actually move recommendation readiness.
Can AudFlo improve our AI visibility?+
AudFlo finds why AI engines overlook you and generates the implementation assets to fix it: rewritten positioning, FAQ and schema, comparison pages, a founder bio, an llms.txt file, and more. You ship them, then rescan to watch recommendation readiness improve. AudFlo does not guarantee recommendations; it improves the signals that make them more likely.
How often should we run an audit?+
Run a fresh audit after any meaningful change to your site, and on a regular cadence so you can see recommendation readiness trend over time. Pro re-checks weekly; the free tier refreshes monthly once your AudFlo badge is verified.
What is answer engine optimization (AEO)?+
Answer engine optimization, or AEO, is the work of making your site easy for AI answer engines to read, trust, and recommend. It is to AI engines what SEO is to Google. AudFlo measures your AEO and does the work for you.
How is AudFlo different from SEO tools?+
SEO tools focus mainly on Google rankings; AudFlo focuses on whether AI engines find, trust, and recommend you. They are complementary, because AEO extends the same SEO foundations, technical health, authority, and clear content, into AI answers. You can rank well on Google and still be under-recommended by AI engines, so most founders benefit from both.
Is AudFlo the same as Audflow?+
No. AudFlo is spelled as one word and is an AI Visibility Audit Platform for founders, found at audflo.com. It is a separate, unaffiliated brand and is not connected to Audflow or other similarly named products.
Do I need to be technical to use AudFlo?+
No. Every generated fix is a copy-paste prompt tailored to your builder (Bolt, Lovable, Cursor, Claude Code, v0, Replit, Windsurf, or your own stack). You paste the prompt, the builder makes the change, you redeploy.
How long does a scan take?+
A free scan completes in about two minutes. The full Pro scan with all six Fix Pack assets generated takes three to four minutes.
What is the AI Visibility Score?+
A number from 0 to 100 representing how well AI engines can understand and recommend your product. Below 45 is invisible. 45 to 64 is below recommendable. 65 to 79 is approaching recommendable. 80 plus is recommended.
What if the audit finds very little?+
Then the report says so, plainly. Some sites are already in good shape and the honest answer is a short list. We would rather tell you that than invent problems.
Can you guarantee AI will recommend me?+
No, and be wary of anyone who does. AudFlo improves the signals that make recommendations more likely, then lets you rescan and watch your readiness change. The engines make their own choices.
Should I act on every AudFlo recommendation right away?+
No. Treat your AudFlo report as a prompt to investigate, not a command to execute. Before you change or remove anything, check what that page is already doing for you. If a page converts well or ranks in Google, treat our recommendation as a reason to refactor it, not to delete it.
